Department history
The Commission for the Restoration of Monumental Painting of the KZ ENT LFKDUM m. I. Trush was created in 2018. The purpose of this scientific direction in the educational process of the college is to train students in the preservation and restoration of wall paintings in architectural monuments and large-format works of art. The training takes place according to the Educational and Professional Program "Restoration of Monumental Painting" and allows applicants to obtain the educational and qualification level of the professional "Junior Bachelor", and later "Bachelor".
In addition to general theoretical disciplines, students of the Commission acquire special knowledge. The subjects "Professional Mastery", "Working with Material", "Copying" provide an opportunity to gain skills in practical restoration of painting, learn how to make copies, study various historical materials and artistic techniques. "Laboratory Studies of Monuments" open up the world of scientific research into the material structures of works of art to students. Such disciplines as "History of Restoration", "Theory of Restoration", "Museology", "Fundamentals of Architecture", "Paleography" and others help students expand their professional knowledge.
Theoretical and practical disciplines on the restoration of monumental painting are taught by specialists with many years of experience in the field of preserving cultural heritage objects. Among them are artists-restorers of the highest qualification categories, Candidate of Arts O. Sadova-Mandyuk and Candidate of Arts O. Rishnyak, artist-restorer of the second qualification category I. Didukh and others.
The training rooms of the Commission for the Restoration of Monumental Painting are equipped with the latest restoration equipment. These include special heating devices, microscopes, laboratory equipment, a fume hood for conducting experiments and preparing solutions, a low-pressure table for the restoration of works on canvas, etc. The updated material and technical base allows us to improve the educational process and ensure a high level of acquired knowledge.
The formation of students as future restorers competitive in the modern labor market is facilitated by the professional interaction of the college with restoration organizations and companies. Having the appropriate knowledge, senior students have the opportunity to participate in conferences and seminars, thus taking their first steps in the field of restoration science.
The quality of the education received is evidenced by numerous awards for high professionalism, which the best students received while restoring objects of our cultural heritage.
