
Rules of conduct for a student in an educational institution
Internal Rules and Regulations
RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF STUDENTS
Students of the Professional College shall enjoy the rights and fulfill the responsibilities established by the legislation of Ukraine, including Article 53 of the Law of Ukraine "On Education", Articles 17, 20, 26, 46, 51, 53, and 62 of the Law of Ukraine "On Professional Pre-Higher Education", Articles 62 and 63 of the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education", as well as the internal regulations of the Professional College.
In addition, students of the Professional College have the right to:
a) safe and healthy conditions for study, work, and residence;
b) use the educational, scientific, production, cultural, social, and sports facilities of the College;
c) participate in discussions and decision-making concerning the improvement of the educational process, leisure activities, living conditions, and health promotion;
d) protection from all forms of exploitation, physical violence, and psychological abuse;
e) free access to the College library, information resources, and the services provided by educational, medical, and other structural units of the College;
f) participate in regular and ad hoc activities aimed at improving the organization and quality of the educational process, including surveys and evaluations of teaching quality, educational programmes, and related matters;
g) academic leave, reinstatement, and transfer to another educational institution in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine;
h) appeal the results of semester assessments, examination sessions, course paper (project) defenses, internship reports, and final certification if they believe that the assessment of their learning outcomes was unfair or biased;
i) protection of intellectual property rights in accordance with the applicable legislation of Ukraine;
j) receive any other benefits and guarantees provided by the legislation of Ukraine.
Rights of Students Residing in the College Dormitory
Students residing in the College dormitory have the right to:
a) accommodation in a dormitory room;
b) use educational, cultural, recreational, and sports facilities, as well as the equipment, inventory, and property of the dormitory in accordance with established procedures;
c) elect representatives to the dormitory student self-government bodies and be elected to such bodies;
d) through the dormitory student self-government bodies, participate in resolving issues related to improving living conditions, organizing cultural and educational activities, leisure, and the work of dormitory staff;
e) submit complaints regarding the work of dormitory staff and living conditions that do not comply with the Regulations on the Student Dormitory.
Responsibilities of Students
Students of the Professional College are required to:
a) comply with the legislation of Ukraine, the College Charter, and these Internal Rules and Regulations;
b) comply with the instructions and lawful orders of the College administration, teaching and academic staff, and the class (academic group) supervisor;
c) observe academic discipline and generally accepted standards of conduct in relations with teaching staff, administrative personnel, other College employees, and fellow students;
d) fulfill the requirements of the educational and professional programme and, where applicable, the individual study plan, in accordance with the academic calendar;
e) treat the College property with care, including equipment, educational materials, books, instruments, and premises, as well as safeguard their personal academic documents (student ID card, record book, etc.). No property may be removed from laboratories, classrooms, or other College premises without permission from the administration;
f) observe ethical and moral standards in communication with College employees and fellow students;
g) in the event of absence from classes, notify the class (academic group) supervisor in advance by telephone or text message. If the student is a minor, such notification shall be made by one of the parents or the legal guardian;
h) attend all classes and assessment activities provided for by the academic calendar and class schedule or, where applicable, by the student's individual study plan.
Rules of Conduct During Classes
During classes, students are required to:
a) enter and leave the classroom only with the permission of the teacher (academic staff member) and only in exceptional circumstances. Absence from a class for more than 10 minutes shall be recorded as an absence in the academic group's attendance register;
b) refrain from talking or engaging in activities unrelated to the lesson;
c) follow all instructions given by the teacher (academic staff member) and have all required textbooks, notebooks, and learning materials available during classes;
d) greet teachers, academic staff members, and representatives of the College administration when they enter the classroom;
e) during laboratory classes, practical training, and work in specialized classrooms, use only those tools, instruments, equipment, and devices authorized by the instructor or practice supervisor.
Prohibited Conduct on the College Premises and Adjacent Territory
The following activities are prohibited within the College buildings and on the surrounding territory:
a) making excessive noise in corridors during classes;
b) gambling, operating audio equipment without prior approval from the College administration, or playing musical instruments without authorization;
c) consuming alcoholic beverages, using narcotic or psychotropic substances, using offensive language, or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
d) smoking;
e) engaging in any actions that may result in injury to oneself or others;
f) bringing explosive or flammable materials onto the College premises;
g) attending physical education classes without appropriate sports footwear.
Accommodation in the College Dormitory
Before moving into the dormitory, each student shall prepare a photographic report documenting the existing condition of the assigned room, including the condition of furniture, windows, doors, electrical outlets, and the presence or absence of mould or mildew on walls and ceilings.
The photographic report shall be uploaded to the institution's Google Workspace for Education cloud environment in the designated location no later than 1 November.
Upon moving out of the dormitory, the dormitory manager, in the presence of the student, shall inspect the room by comparing its condition with the uploaded photographic report and determine whether any damage to or deterioration of the property has occurred.
Prohibited Conduct in the Dormitory
The following activities are prohibited within the dormitory buildings and adjacent territory:
a) making excessive noise in corridors;
b) violating cleanliness and order or failing to observe ethical standards of behaviour and communication;
c) violating health and safety regulations;
d) consuming alcoholic beverages, using narcotic or psychotropic substances, using offensive language, engaging in fights, or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
e) smoking;
f) storing explosive or flammable materials in dormitory rooms;
g) using the personal property of other residents without their prior consent;
h) remaining outside the designated shelter during an officially announced air raid alert;
i) violating the rules of conduct after the beginning of the curfew;
j) failing to perform assigned cleaning duties in corridors, bathrooms, and kitchens according to the established duty schedule;
k) entering or visiting the dormitory without a valid entry pass;
l) moving into the dormitory without undergoing the required medical examination in accordance with established regulations.
Disciplinary Measures
The following disciplinary measures may be imposed on students:
a) verbal warning;
b) notification of parents or legal guardians regarding unsatisfactory academic performance or misconduct;
c) reprimand;
d) expulsion from the College.
Any disciplinary measure shall be applied only after consultation with the student self-government bodies. Other disciplinary measures that do not contradict the legislation of Ukraine may also be applied.
When imposing a disciplinary measure, the seriousness of the misconduct, aggravating circumstances, and the student's previous conduct shall be taken into account. Only one disciplinary measure may be imposed for a single violation.
Before a disciplinary measure is imposed, the student shall provide a written explanation of the incident. Refusal or failure to submit such an explanation shall not exempt the student from disciplinary liability. In such cases, an appropriate official report shall be prepared.
Incentives and Awards
Students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and active participation in the College's creative, research, and community activities may receive the following forms of recognition:
a) a formal expression of appreciation;
b) a monetary award;
c) a valuable gift;
d) a certificate of honour;
e) additional points when determining eligibility for an academic scholarship.
Notification of Absence
Students shall promptly inform the class (academic group) supervisor if they are unable to attend classes or sit for examinations, re-examinations, tests, quizzes, or other assessment activities for valid reasons.
Students absent for valid reasons must submit properly completed supporting documents within four working days after returning to their studies.
Compliance with Administrative Orders
Students are required to comply with the lawful orders and instructions issued by:

the Director of the College;

the Deputy Director for Academic and Educational Affairs;

the Head of the Department;

the Class (Academic Group) Supervisor.
